If cups and cook pots are exposed to untreated water, are they safe to use after they air dry?

The answer is probably—especially if the kitchenware is exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet light while drying. Not many waterborne germs will survive complete drying, even in shade.
UV light adds a boost toward disinfection. To be really sure, wipe dry your kitchenware with a clean cloth—or, at least, a relatively clean cloth—such as a bandanna that has seen little use and/or has been allowed to dry between uses.
The act of mopping will collect most of any viable germs that are still clinging to the cookware, allowing the drying process to be even more effective —BUCK.
