Treksta Libero

Grippy low-tops

Brand: TrekSta USA

Model: Treksta Libero

The Liberos combine the grippiness of an approach shoe with the feel of a lightweight hiker, and our tester approved. “They’re ideal for hands-and-feet peakbagging,” he said after vetting the sticky outsole in South Korea’s Taebaek Mountains. He particularly enjoyed the wider-than-average toebox with its slight ridge under the ball of the foot, which kept his feet comfortable on full-day mountain missions. “My feet relaxed and had room to spread out,” he reported following a day of scrambling in Colorado’s Indian Peaks. “That meant less foot fatigue after many hours spent on the trail.” Drawback: minimal support means the Liberos max out at loads over 30 pounds.
