Traveler’s Daypack
This versatile pack has the organization of a good carry-on, yet it’s comfortable enough to carry 20 pounds of dayhiking gear on rough Alps terrain. It has a zippered top pocket for wallet and passport, two deep bottle sleeves, and a roomy zippered front pocket for storing an extra layer. A slim plastic frame sheet gives the pack structure and support. And it’s stable: “The contoured shoulder straps and simple unpadded hipbelt snugged the load securely into my spine,” said one tester after an aggressive scramble up the Le Parmelan in the Haute Savoie region of France. $125; 2 lbs. 6 oz.; 2,200 cu. in.; patagonia.com.
