Smith Optics Pivlock Overdrive Sunglasses Review

The light weight, snug fit, and interchangeable lenses make these Smith shades extremely versatile.

Brand: Smith

Model: Pivlock Overdrive

Verdict

“We used these super-versatile shades on three continents and in a multitude of sunlight conditions. What sets them apart? Let us count the ways. 1) They practically disappear on the face, thanks to the lightweight frame and excellent, cheekbone-hugging, full-wrap fit that lets no light around the perimeter. 2) The Platinum Carbonic TLT lens (one of six choices) handled the brightest sun we could find in Tanzania, Namibia, Jordan, and Colorado. 3) The swappable technology is innovative and secure. To switch lenses, hold the frame and pull up on the temple piece. Then pop the lens out. Gripe: The close-fit, full-wrap frame leads to fogging in high-exertion activities or very cold conditions.” $199-$239 (depending on lens choice); 1.1 oz.; smithoptics.com
