SmartWool Routt County Tee

This feels like your favorite five-year-old tee but has the performance chops of a technical hiking shirt.

Brand: SmartWool

Model: Routt County Tee

Moisture management

Our Northwest editor spends as much time in wet weather as anyone, and he raved about the capabilities of this T-shirt. “I was shoulder deep in pools of water in Oregon’s Louse Canyon, and 10 minutes later I felt dry.” SmartWool blends merino with Tencel, a natural fiber that comes from sustainably harvested wood pulp and has notably better drying time than plain wool. Tencel also adds luxe cushiness; the Routt feels like super-soft cotton.

Durability

For six months, we wore this fine-looking shirt everywhere from South America to the Sierras, and it still looks good as new, with zero pilling.

$75; 6 oz. (L); available in a women’s version, the Graphic Faded Mountain
