2-Season Sleeping Bag Reviews

Sea to Summit Ember EbI Quilt

For light-and-fast summer trips, there’s nothing better than this quilt: It weighs less than a pound and packs down to grapefruit size.

Brand: Sea to Summit

Model: Ember EbI Quilt

Versatility

For warm sleepers and gram counters, a quilt does everything a bag does, plus some. Too hot? Flip the top down or stick a leg out. It also makes a great campfire blanket, and it’s just wide enough to wrap around both you and your cuddle buddy. The Ember does all this while staying lighter and more packable than many of its quilt-style peers thanks to 750+ fill, water-resistant duck down and sewn-through baffles. Plus, there are no zippers to fumble with when nature calls.

Warmth

Strapping the quilt to your pad with the included attachments and cinching the bottom boosts insulation. Our warm-sleeping tester was comfortable in the low 40s while backpacking in the Sierras, but colder snoozers still wore a puffy and warm socks on nights near the temp rating. Ding: The sewn-through baffles leave cold spots where the fabric is pinched.

Sizing

The regular size is 82 inches long. Want bigger? The large adds 9 inches to the length and 12 inches to the width for $20 and 6 ounces more.
