These all-leather waterproof hikers proved trail-worthy from Colorado to the Swiss Alps, thanks to stiff midfoot support that can handle extended dayhiking with loads up to 25 pounds. The Capilene lining boosts comfort and wicks moisture. One complaint: The lugged sole stuck to most surfaces, but slipped on wet rock. Bonus: The Drifter is made in part from recycled materials.
