Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia founder, was inspired by his travels in the Himalayas to develop this barley soup, comprised of four different roasted whole grains and dried vegetables. We liked the soup as a core-warming appetizer, but many felt it needed something extra to boost flavor and calories. Wild Sockeye Salmon (also available from Patagonia, $12) and a shot of hot sauce saved the day.
