Oboz Bridger 8” Insulated BDry

One of our favorite all-arounders gets winterized.

Brand: Oboz

Model: Bridger 8” Insulated BDry

Durability We’ve been fans of the Oboz Bridger for years, in large part due to the boot’s tough, all-leather upper and solid EVA midsole. This new version adds insulation and a higher cuff, and retains the same durable performance. It survived months of on- and off-trail hiking without any signs of breaking down.

Warmth With 200 grams of Thinsulate insulation and a winterized insole, the Bridger is ideal for hikes that dip into bitter-cold territory (though the Vasques, right, are the warmest boots here). The dual-density foam insole, which is one of the most supportive stock insoles we’ve used, uses wool and heat-reflective mylar to boost underfoot warmth. Despite the toasty, waterproof construction, our feet didn’t overheat on uphill climbs during icy hikes in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Support The midsole’s TPU chassis and nylon shank easily handled packs up to 50 pounds on backpacking trips in California’s Trinity Alps. The 8-inch ankle cuff enhances stability. m’s 8-12, 13, 14, w’s 6-11
