Native Upslope

They offer the best field of vision.

Brand: Native

Model: Upslope

Lens The spherical lens was the widest in our test and a favorite among skiers with large heads. “It’s super-wide, but not super-tall, so I had nice peripheral vision without looking like a park rat,” one tester says. We dug the rose-tinted lens with silver mirror for all conditions (not interchangeable). The water- and oleophobic coatings are vacuum-sealed on the lens, which Native claims is more scratch-resistant than a traditional dip. Our first sample emerged from a crash much the worse for wear, but our second has fared better.

Venting Best in class: Mesh between the face foam and frame acts as a wraparound vent. Four gills at the top of the lens also promote airflow. We appreciated the fog-free windshield on high-output powder runs.
