This shirt was made for scorching days in the desert or above treeline, where there’s nowhere to take refuge from the sun. A 3-inch-high collar and silky polyester fabric with UPF 50+ kept us from getting sunburned on a bright and cloudless day on Mt. Elden in Arizona, and the material is so lightweight that it dried in 15 minutes on a 70°F day after we splashed across a deep creek. With supersoft mesh panels on the undersides of the arms and on the back, we never got too clammy as our output increased. The Shade Lite packs down to the size of a softball in its own side stash pocket, which also fits snacks for the day.

m’s S-XXL, w’s XS-XL
