Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Stimulus

Most breathable

Brand: Mountain Hardwear

Model: Power Stretch Stimulus

Our take Hard efforts in moderate temps are the specialty of the Power Stretch Stimulus; its lightweight, breathable design splits the difference between a liner and a full glove. Made of a blend of 84 percent recycled polyester and 16 percent elastane, and with a heavy, non-lofted synthetic lining, the Stimulus wicked moisture off our palms during an after-work session at Colorado’s Caribou Pass in 40°F temps; it also cut the wind better than a standard fleece liner glove. (Even with all that elastane, it still dries relatively fast.) A synthetic leather palm let us handle ski edges without wearing through the fabric, but the thumb seam developed a hole after a winter in the field.

Trail cred “When the sun set and temps plummeted, I put my thick gloves right over the Stimulus and used them like a pair of liners,” our Colorado tester says. “Thanks to the smooth face fabric, they slipped on easily.”
