Mountain Equipment Lumiko Hooded Jacket
The most versatile fleece of 2021.
On days with iffy weather, this light and packable fleece with a fitted hood always made it into our pack. Testers approved of the Lumiko’s soft, ribbed polyester/elastane interior and high warmth-to-weight ratio. On a 40°F hike in Chugach State Park, Alaska, we were glad to have it as our midlayer under a rain shell when it started drizzling. And because its fabric is so thin, the Lumiko doesn’t feel bulky underneath a puffy or shell or over a T-shirt. Our body heat dried it within 20 minutes of getting soaked with sweat. Ding: We would’ve loved some hand pockets in addition to the palm-size chest pocket.
