Mother's Day Gift Guide: Patagonia Multi Use Skirt
A cute, comfy, and functional hiking skirt
With a hiking skirt there’s no need to forgo femininity on the trail. But many skirts built for running are so short that you might have to forgo a little modesty. This skirt from Patagonia is long enough that you won’t have to worry about people beneath you while descending switchbacks, but short enough to not interfere with any freedom of movement.
The fabric is very light and breathable, and a fun colorful design stands out without being flashy. The liner shorts have a grippy hem to keep them in place, no riding up allowed. A small Velcro pocket on the side easily stashes a snack, and the waist is smooth and low to not interfere with a pack. The DWR coating repels mist from early morning hikes or, as one tester found out, an early morning coffee spill. $55; 5.2 oz; patagonia.com; w’s XS-XL
