Mammut MTR 201 Dyneema Trail Runner Review

Brand: MTR 201 Dyneema

Model: Mammut

SUPER RUGGED TRAIL RUNNER

Support/Protection
A substantial heel counter and an EVA midsole create “excellent stability and support,” according to our finicky tester, who has had three ACL surgeries.

Feel
“The lacing system, which integrates into the webbing side-supports, pulls the entire upper securely around my foot like a hug,” says a tester.

Traction
With deeper lugs and a more aggressive tread, the MTR “can handle sketchy washed out trails, mud, and dicey descents,” says our tester.

Durability
“After 250 miles, the Dyneema upper is totally unscathed. And the honeycombed lining fabric shows zero signs of pilling.”

Verdict
Bridging the gap between running shoes and light hikers, the Dyneema will serve heel-striking runners and dayhikers well.
