Comfort “I could wear these snowshoes all day without ever feeling hampered,” says a tester who raced more than 80 miles in the newly redesigned Course. Credit the featherlight decking. “Lighter means faster, especially in early season when you can feel every extra gram in your hip flexors and hamstrings,” our tester says. “My legs didn’t feel weary lifting up snowshoes for mile after mile.”
Traction Three crampons underneath the toe and two under the heel allowed our tester to confidently cruise on icy and packed trails. But the smaller teeth of the crampons proved less effective when sidehilling. “These snowshoes aren’t for beginners,” our tester says. “You really have to know how to keep your balance over the center.”
Binding The trend continues: A Boa knob cinches the foot in place, while a second strap locks in the heel. 21”
