Lasting Trekking WHI
Best value
Our take Get warmth, durability, and comfort for a sweet price. The Trekking WHIs kept our feet from rebelling on a soggy, 50-mile section of the Long Trail between Appalachian Gap and Smugglers’ Notch in Vermont thanks to 70 percent merino construction. But after getting soaked in 45°F weather, the socks still dried overnight thanks to their polypropylene content. An extra layer (90 percent merino and 10 percent nylon) is knit underfoot using a terryloop, giving these socks the durability needed to withstand weeks on the trail. And the best part? The Trekking WHIs are comparatively affordable for a majority merino sock.
Trail cred “Even with the high wool content, these socks didn’t lose their shape when I went four days between washes,” our tester reported after finishing the Long Trail.
