3-Season Sleeping Bags Reviews

Kelty SB 20 Sleeping Bag Review

The SB offers the top-shelf performance of 800-fill DriDown at second-shelf price.

Brand: Kelty

Model: SB 20

[killer value]
Why we like it The SB offers the top-shelf performance of 800-fill DriDown at second-shelf price.

Cost control Loft for less: Kelty claims 800-fill duck down (see below) replaces goose down (an industry first).

Versatility
Positive feedback followed this bag around like a shadow. Twenty-degree temps in the Colorado mountains? Testers cinched the hood and stayed warm all night. Mild nights in the Jordanian desert? Our crew just vented the two-way, full-length zipper. Rainy and humid evenings in the Pacific Northwest? The DriDown kept the bag from losing loft in the wettest of conditions. “If I had to choose only one bag for my gear closet, this would be it,” says one tester. Bonus: In the included compression sack, it shrinks to 7 by 11 inches for easy packing.

Fave feature
We love the free-hanging, down-filled draft flap around the neck. “I tucked it in to provide extra insulation on cold nights,” says one tester. Nice touch: The head and foot ends have a polyurethane waterproof coating, which keeps them from soaking up moisture if they’re pressed against a wet tent wall.

Cut
It’s efficiently trim, which saves weight, but check fit if you like roll-around room.
