Got a budding videographer on your list? Check out this wearable pocket-size (2.5 x 1.5 x 2.25 inches, in waterproof case) HD video camera, with optional attachments that let you mount it to your chest, noggin, handlebars, ski pole, surf board, or even the dog.

The included waterproof case (cool!) lets you dive right in and still record sound. Video quality is top notch in daylight (but grainy in low-light scenarios), and the Hero even has different settings to take still photos, self-timer photos, or adjustable time-lapse photo sequences for capturing things like intermittent shots on your way down the ski run. Turning the camera on, selecting modes, and recording video were no challenge for our tester even with gloves on, and a two button operating system keeps camera operation simple.

Flat and curved mounts, helmet mount, head strap included; chest strap ($40), handlebar ($40), and surf board mount ($20) sold separately. $180; 6.1 oz (in waterproof case); goprocamera.com
