Our take Trekkers looking to go far and fast will love this system—it compresses down to the size of a grapefruit (smallest in the test) even with the included rainfly. It’ll last, too: The 30-denier, high-tenacity nylon body and 20-denier mesh canopy don’t show any signs of wear in our eight months of testing. The 20-denier, silnylon rainfly (8 ounces) sheds rain well, but doesn’t help much in windy conditions.

The details Livability is good for smaller folks, but if you’re over 6 feet (and 200 pounds), you won’t fit. An asymmetrical cut (like a parallelogram) allowed us to lay flat on an angle, making for a comfortable night’s sleep. A nylon ridgeline creates an A-frame effect for a tall peak height.

Trail cred “The interior mesh pocket on the ridgeline is a handy feature,” says one tester. “I could fit my phone, wallet, and even a small paperback in there.”
