Thermacell Radius Zone Mosquito Repellent 2.0
Set-and-forget bug protection
OUR TAKE Hiker enemy number one: mosquitoes. Our new first line of defense: the Radius 2.0. With the push of a button, this hand-size device continuously mists capsules of odorless metofluthrin into the air across a coverage area that Thermacell pegs at 110 square feet—big enough for your camp kitchen. We’re still going to don sleeves in the buggiest areas at feeding time, but we loved it as an added defense. “I sat outside in calm weather for five hours on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and came away with only a few bites—infinitely fewer than I’d have without the Radius,” one tester says. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts for about six hours, and each capsule delivers 40 hours of protection. Refills are $20 (or $8 for a 20-hour capsule).
TRAIL CRED “The first Radius tended to leak when jostled in your pack, but this one hasn’t spilled once,” one tester says.
