Princeton Tec SNAP

Most versatile

Brand: Princeton Tec

Model: SNAP

OUR TAKE This light is really three gadgets in one: By swapping out its head- lamp housing for the carabiner or handlebar mount (both included), the SNAP transforms from a personal light to a hanging lantern or a bike light in seconds. The key is a strong magnet, which holds the lamp’s body in its bracket and allows for easy swapping. Operation is simple: The SNAP cycles through high, low, and strobe modes with a single button. Its 200-lumen LED is bright enough to see objects up to 120 feet away (and allows cars to spot you while you’re biking), average for a headlamp of its weight.

TRAIL CRED “The battery life is astounding,” says our tester, citing the SNAP’s 130-hour burn time on low. “I’ve used it for 25 nights of camping, and I haven’t had to replace the AAA batteries yet.”
