OUR TAKE This helmet barely registers on a scale, and with 21 ventilation holes, it was our choice for hot days at the crag. “On a 75°F, sunny day on a south-facing wall in Fern Canyon, Colorado, I was glad to have my sweat evaporate almost immediately as I battled thin crimps on a wild, 35-meter pitch,” one tester says. Safety is still dialed, though: An EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner injected into a polycarbonate shell provides protection from both lateral strikes and rockfall.
CRAG CRED “Clicking the chin-strap shut was easy thanks to the magnetic catch,” one tester says. “I was easily able to tighten and loosen the helmet on the fly with two quick-release sliding tabs at the back.”
