Gear Review: Sugoi RSE Windblock Cap

A cap that lives up to its name

[warmest]

Icy gusts have a pernicious way of working their way through most hats, but not this one, which deflects them via a windproof polyester front panel. The rest is a DWR-treated, hard-faced polyester fleece with a comfy, brushed interior.

Whether she was skiing, mountaineering, or winter cycling, our tester says, “The windproof panel proved the perfect size and shape to block oncoming wind while allowing the rest of the hat to breathe. And the ear flaps stayed in place—never riding up, but without too much compression.”

The cap sits seamlessly under a helmet, and although it comes in just one size, it fits both large and small heads. $40; 1 oz.; one size; sugoi.com
