Gear Review: Stoic Welder Lo Jacket
The perfect three-season jacket.
All conditions
The Stoic Welder Lo is perhaps the perfect three-season jacket–if you live for going hard in fall, winter, or spring. One Colorado tester faced late autumn drizzle and graupel while hiking and running Front Range trails, and praised the breathability of the Polartec Power Shield. “I was able to keep pace with my hard-charging husky without steaming up. Then when we slowed up to catch the view, the microfleece interior kept me toasty,” he says. Welded seams kept moisture from leaking through, and the hyper-athletic cut never rides up, even when you’re running or reaching for handholds. Tradeoff: The body-hugging cut only fits over baselayers. $299; 1 lb. 8 oz.; stoicgear.com
