Gear Review: Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA102YL Camera

A waterproof video camera that's reasonably priced.

KILLER DEAL

Handheld video

Without spending a mint, you get decent HD video and bomber weatherproofing with the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA102YL. This waterproof camera captures 14-megapixel stills and video at 1080p in bright, clear color. Wind, sandstorms, drops, and dunks in murky potholes didn’t faze it, and its wallet size makes it easy to carry. Testers wished for sharper images, especially in low light (where images become dim and noisy). “But if you go places where you think about weatherproof first, video quality second, this is a very tough camera to beat,” says one user. $349; 8.7 oz. (with battery); us.sanyo.com
