Gear Review: Rottefella Chili Three-Pin Cable Nordic Bindings

A tried-and-true tele binding.

This tried-and-true binding design hasn’t changed much for the last 20 years. Good thing, because it works. And while the low-resistance, easy-to-adjust cables may not be stiff enough for aggressive tele skiers, the binding has just enough torsional stability and torque to work the lightweight BC 125s down a variety of slope angles and snow conditions. Uphill performance is “smooth and unencumbered,” says our tester. $180; 2 lbs. 3 oz. (with 10mm riser); rottefella.no
