Gear Review: Primus PrimeTorch 1010

A 140-lumen beam in a lipstick-size flashlight.

Flashlight

“I was amazed when I accidently drove my Subaru over this without crushing it,” our tester marvels of the Primus PrimeTorch 1010. This little lipstick-size flashlight packs a 140-lumen beam into a tiny package. The high output limits battery life–test samples ran for three hours on one battery—and the required lithium CR123A isn’t cheap. But it makes an ideal spotlight, or a cougar-blinding security safeguard. $57; 1.6 oz.; primuscamping.com
