Gear Review: Pelican HeadsUP Lite 2690 LED Headlamp

An easy-to-use headlamp (even with gloves on).

KILLER DEAL

Headlamp

It’s not the absolute lightest lamp out there, but the Pelican HeadsUP Lite 2690 LED is among the easiest to use, especially while wearing gloves. It turns on with one twist of the bezel—no groping for tiny buttons. The head pivots up and down to direct the 60-lumen beam, which extends more than 200 feet. “The nonadjustable beam is slightly too narrow for nighttime bushwhacking, but the single brightness level is great for both distant and up-close tasks,” reports our tester. Ding: Run time is 10 hours. $33; 4 oz. (with three AAA batteries); pelican.com
