Gear Review: Outdoor Research Luminary Glove
Enemies: Wind, sweat, water. This gloves fights them all.
[3-in-1]
Water actually isn’t your top concern in subfreezing temperatures. It’s wind and sweat you have to worry about—or so goes the design philosophy behind this system, which pairs a synthetic-insulated, weather-resistant Windstopper outer glove with a removable fleece liner. Both pieces have precurved leather palms, allowing you to choose the combo that’s best for the conditions. Testers used the Luminary for both ice climbing and skiing and one says, “The superior wicking and ability to up- or downsize warmth worked like a charm.” Gravy: nice price. $99; 8.3 oz.; (m’s S-XL, w’s S-L); outdoorresearch.com
