Gear Review: Norrøna Roldal Warm1 Shirt

A versatile and breathable shirt from Norrøna.

Brand: Roldal Warm1 Shirt

Model: Norrøna

Verdict

“It’s not the most technical piece of clothing in my gear closet, but over the last several months this thin, versatile fleece shirt has logged more wear time than any other. Why? It regulates my temperature perfectly. I’m never too hot, never too cool. It’s stretchy and breathable. The fit is spot-on (tailored but relaxed), and it looks just plain great. The Polartec Classic Micro fleece is as thin a tangerine skin, with a brushed, nappy interior surface for coziness and a gridded exterior that boosts breathability (air moves easily through the channels). I wore it kayaking on cool summer evenings, as part of a more elaborate layering system in the fall, and I expect to keep wearing it all through the winter.” $119; 10 oz. “I love the flip-up collar for extra warmth and the quick and easy snap closures down the front and at the cuffs.”
