Gear Review: Mountain Hardware Quasar

A comfy cap for hot days

Most caps have a stiff, sewn-in band above the brim—providing structure but also causing irritating forehead-creases. Mountain Hardwear’s Quasar has no band, but it still held its shape, due to the precise placement of seams. It felt soft on our brows, the honeycomb lining wicked sweat, and mesh panels vented heat on the hottest days. $30; 2 oz.; mountainhardwear.com
