Gear Review: GoLite Demaree Canyon Jacket

A packable puffy with a sleek, athletic fit.

Verdict

A packable puffy is a key part of my cold-weather kit, and I’ve tested a bunch. This one stands out for its superb athletic fit. The women’s Demaree has an astounding 204 chambers—more than twice as many as any other jacket in my closet—of premium 800-fill down. (The men’s version has a different pattern but comparable number of baffles.)

The result: a fit that wraps every curve without binding, enhancing both thermal efficiency and mobility. Plus, the down stays put. Despite its bear-hug cut, I never felt restricted, even when clawing my way out of a tree well while snowshoe testing.

Best For

Winter athletes looking for an athletically cut, midweight puffy jacket
