Gear Review: Fox River Mammoth Ski Socks

These lightweight ski socks are warm, snug, and boot bang friendly.

“An all-around knee-high that’s great for aerobic days on any slopes,” says a tester who wore them touring and resort-skiing across Colorado. Snug where they need to be (arch and heel, thanks to spandex compression zones), the socks are cushioned on the shin and sole for added warmth and protection from boot bang.

Breathable mesh panels on the ankle and forefoot, plus a 61% makeup of Thermolite polyester (compact, hollow-core fibers that are lightweight and thermally efficient) prevented the Mammoths from getting sweat-soaked on long climbs in above-freezing temps.
