Gear Review: Flylow Magnum/Bella Donna Pants
Ski or snowboard pants that won't get shredded.
[most durable]
If your ski pants always end up shredded, get these burly bottoms. The Magnum (and women’s Bella Donna) is reinforced where tele skiers need it most: 1,200-denier Cordura patches on the knees and cuffs keep ski edges from slicing through. Despite the extra protection, the waterproof/breathable fabric (with 10-percent spandex) stretches for full mobility.
Four zippered vents (inner thigh and outer leg) allow excellent comfort on sweaty climbs, and built-in gaiters seal out snow. Nitpicks: The baggy fit and four jeans-style pockets say “youthful style,” but the Magnum slid off our hips (get a belt), and the excess fabric (read: more weight and bulk) can get in the way during turns. $250; 2 lbs. 1 oz.
