Gear Review: Craft Concept Piece
“When serious sweating is on the agenda, this snug-fitting, superlight crewneck is what I want,” reports one tester who wore the top while training for an adventure race. The 100-percent polyester fabric is a combination
of two gauzy, stretchy knits: vertically ribbed material in the arms and torso, and an even airier mesh mapped into the upper back, shoulders, underarms, and cuffs.
“It whisked sweat away from my skin instantly and dried in a snap,” says an editor who wore it under a shell for four days of skiing in Colorado’s Gore Range. Another tester lived in it on a five-day backcountry ski trip in Iceland and reports, “I’d rate this slightly better than average for a synthetic when it comes to the stink factor. The top remained relatively odor-free for three days, and it took five days for tentmates to become offended.”
Fashion warning: The Concept’s tighty-whitey look is not for après pub wear—unless you have the chest and abs to go full Scandanavian-sexy.
