Gear Review: Canada Goose HyBridge Jacket

A hybrid softshell/puffy jacket.

[warm and breathable]

Thermometer says down puffy, heart rate says softshell? Get both with this hybrid. It has 750-fill down panels strategically placed where you need the most warmth—your core—and water-resistant, highly breathable Polartec Power Shield O2 fabric through the arms and shoulders. Our tester stayed “perfectly regulated” down to 10°F on backcountry ski tours and while skate skiing in the Tetons.

Stretchy, gasket-like cuffs seal out drafts, well-placed pockets don’t fall under a hipbelt, and the fleece-lined hood fits over a helmet. Testers praised the fit (athletic) and style (classy). Downsides: weight and price. $500; 1 lb. 7 oz.; m’s XS-2XL, w’s 2XS-XL; canada-goose.com
