Gear Review: Black Diamond Titan Camp Light

A camp light that you'll find yourself using everywhere.

This superbright, long-burning camp light is a far cry from the old gas mantle lanterns I’ve used in the past. Rugged and stable enough to stand up to toddler fumbles, it’s bright enough to illuminate a big campsite but the frosted globe and the adjustable settings mean there’s no obnoxious glare.

Most impressive: The QuadPower LEDs can go the distance. I ran it for 11 hours straight before I started to see a drop off in light quality. Bottom line: You’ll love it in campgrounds, but you’ll find countless other uses for it at home, in the yard and workshop, making it well worth the investment. $80; 2 lbs. 12 oz. (with 4 D batteries); blackdiamondequipment.com.
