Gear Guide 2009: Teva Aniso eVent Boot Review

Hit the trail with this waterproof and ultralight boot from Teva.

Ultralight and Waterproof

There are plenty of featherweight low-cuts out there with waterproof/breathable linings, but none offer the Aniso’s level of support. It has just enough rigidity in the EVA midsole for hikers with strong ankles to carry an ultralight pack on smooth trails, and an easy forefoot flex mimics the feel of a trail runner.

Soft-shell uppers and an eVent membrane provide reliable waterproofing and superior breathability. “But it’s definitely an on-trail shoe,” said our tester. “I could feel sharp rocks underfoot and against the sides when scrambling, and it gets sloppy off-trail.” Best for medium-volume feet. $100; 1 lb. 11 oz.
