Model: Merino 10 No Show Tab Cushion
For some of us, running season never ends. So when snow and slush cover our favorite trails, the Merino 10 covers our feet. Although it has the profile of a traditional, low-cut trail running sock, a thicker-than-normal knit at the heel and forefoot insulated our feet against the cold during weekly circuits through Washington’s Cascade foothills in subfreezing temps. And even when we couldn’t avoid mud puddles, 32 percent merino wool meant this sock stayed soft when wet and 30 percent tencel (combined with vents on top) ensured it dried out fast enough that our testers didn’t get a single blister. (Thirty-five percent nylon and 3 percent elastane round out the fibers.)
“The tencel-and-merino combo gives this sock a supersoft feel, and even after dozens of washes my pair is as cloud-like as the day I first wore it,” our tester reports.
