Eastern Mountain Sports Mountain Light 20

A three-season sleeping bag that's warm, efficient, and tough.

Brand: Eastern Mountain Sports

Model: Mountain Light 20 (Reg and Long)

Verdict

On glacier-covered slopes in the Arctic Circle, this bag was my haven when wind, freezing rain, and snow buffeted my tent and temps hit the mid-20s. The cloud-soft overlapping baffles are filled with 750-fill down, the mummy shape is thermally efficient without squeezing like a sarcophagus, and the tough, 30-denier Pertex Microlight shell formed a force-field against condensation, even when I packed the bag damp. It disappeared into my expedition pack. Caution: As with many 20°F bags, you’ll want to layer up or use a liner when temps really bottom out at the rating. ems.com

Best For

Any three-season camper

The Mountain Light 20 is a jack of all trades traditional down sleeping bag built for long lasting trail use. Using 750 fill European goose down; this bag packs small and lofts right up so there’s no need to wait around before crawling in on a cold night.
