Flashlights have the annoying habit of switching on when they bump up against something else in your pack. The kind that turn on with a twist of the bulb housing are less prone to sudden fits of lighting up. Three ways to keep flashlights from impulsively declaring, “let there be light”:
- Tape the switch into the off position.
- Take out the batteries.
- Put the batteries in a dysfunctional upside-down position.
