Most lightweight, hot-weather pants get shredded by kids’ fabric-punishing maneuvers. But these convertible bottoms are made of a super-tough, abrasion-resistant nylon that let one 7-year-old scramble and butt-slide throughout California’s San Gabriel Mountains—without producing a single rip or hole in his pants. They also dried fast—within 20 minutes of a dunking—and an internal waistband adjustment cinches to fit slender bellies.
