Model: Flight Attendant X Splitboard

Burton took one of its best-selling snowboards, the Flight Attendant, and made it one of the lightest splitboards available. By placing a carbon composite laminate above and below the core, designers increased
the board’s power and snap. They also eliminated a topsheet, saving nearly half a pound (but also making this the most expensive board we tested).

THE DETAILS

The Flight Attendant has a 10-millimeter taper and camber under the rear foot (set back 3.5 centimeters). “It’s quick and responsive on short-radius turns, and lively and playful edge to edge,” says one Colorado mountain guide. Ding: The rockered nose was a bit soft for variable conditions, causing testers to go over the handlebars at high speeds.

TRAIL CRED

“This board’s big scoop is great on powder days,” one tester says. “The Flight Attendant let me surf on top, slalom between trees, and drop small cliffs with confidence.”

Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz. (158)

Lengths: 158, 163
