Bridgedale Ski Lightweight

Best for ski touring sock from the Fall/Winter 2018 Gear Guide.

None

Long ski tours are hard on feet and socks. But after more than 100 miles in the skin track, one tester said that whether she was moving or resting in temps from the single digits to the 30s, the Ski Lightweight kept her feet a constant, comfy temperature. To achieve these results, Bridgedale starts with a thick,  polypropylene yarn (20 percent)— which has low thermal conductivity, making it a good insulator—and adds merino wool (20 percent). Majority nylon construction (58 percent) boosts durability through high-mileage pummeling, and padding on the front and ankles helps prevent shin bang.

TRAIL CRED

“On a 25°F tour in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, the Ski Lightweight wicked well enough that my feet never got too sweaty,” one tester says.

Weight: 1.9 oz.

Sizes: m’s M-XL, w’s S-L
