Boot Review: Tecnica Cyclone Mid GTX-XCR

If there's a rough and tough masochist in the ultralight category, it's the Cyclone.

If there’s a masochist in this category, here it is. The tough synthetic leather uppers beg for abuse, one tester reports after thrashing the shoes through squeeze chimneys in Capitol Reef. The low-lugged outsole edges well on scrambles, and precise tongue tailoring and well-placed lacing produce a secure fit. The Gore-Tex liner keeps the wet out. Best for narrow to medium-width feet. $119
