Boot Review: Asolo Stynger GTX

When it was time for Ladies' Choice, they picked the boot that 'just plain fit.'

Last year, our male testers declared the Asolo Fugitive one of their favorites. So this year, our female testers were pleased to see the Stynger, a Fugitive spin-off made just for women. Verdict? “These boots just plain fit,” says one tester of the shoe’s narrow heels and low overall volume. She also praises their supportive ankles, comfortable forefoot flex, sticky soles, and low-bulk design. Weight is light enough for fast dayhikes and scrambles, and support is good enough for high-mileage treks with a heavy pack. A rubber toe cap, double stitching, and minimal seams increase durability. They run a half size small. Best for narrow, low- to medium-volume feet. $160
