At higher altitudes and in chilly weather, we stayed cozy and dry in this fleece. A cowl neck turns into a gaiter that stayed put over our mouth and nose on sub-30°F days near Ridgway, Colorado, and was also useful when we forgot a mask. Thanks to articulated mesh elbows, lighter panels of polyester on the sides, and an interior grid pattern that moves moisture, we didn’t overheat during a 45°F, 2,000-foot day of ski touring in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. One hidden zippered pocket on the right abdomen stows a smartphone. Bonus: Most hoodies with similar tech specs start at $100, so this one is a bargain.
