Berghaus Antelao Pant
This full-featured, three-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell pant stands up to hard use in fierce weather.
Brand: Antelao Pant
Model: Berghaus
Weather Protection “I never felt the wind, and stayed dry when sitting on snow through heavy snowstorms in Utah’s Wasatch Range and wind-driven sleet in the Tetons,” one tester says.
Durability The 70-denier nylon didn’t scuff or puncture over a full season of skiing, and Schoeller Keprotec reinforcements (which are infused with Kevlar) stiffen the kick patches and prevent cuts from sharp skis and climbing tools.
Features Full, two-way side zips allow for myriad venting options (and a dropseat), but Pro Shell’s breathability proved good enough that our tester only reached for the zipper pulls when temperatures exceeded 40°F. Three inseam lengths (30, 32 and 34 for men; 29, 31 and 33 for women) suit a variety of body types. Detachable suspenders are streamlined for comfort beneath a pack. The inner gaiter detaches to help the cuff adapt to mountaineering and hiking boots.
