What does the torso length help with fitting the backpack?

This is a nice video. I'm in a scout troop for military families overseas. Gear School is a nice start for us leaders who don't necessarily have much experience with hiking and backpacking.
The more you can categorize articles and videos for beginners the better. It is sort of frustrating to be a rank beginner when it seems like websites and articles assume that you know what you're doing and have a lot of experience.
